MBAITU FM HOST MERCY MAWIA’S HUSBAND EXPLAINS WHAT LED TO HER DEATH

Mbaitu FM radio presenter Mercy Mawia alias Kamuwetangi’s death has left many heartbroken. Her husband, Mwangi, shared the sad details of her final days.

For two years, Mercy fought severe blood clots in her abdomen. Despite her illness, she kept entertaining her listeners.

“For like two years, she was ailing, yet she was smiling and entertaining people,” Mwangi said.

Three months after her diagnosis, Mercy found out she was pregnant, something she had hoped for over eight years.

“She found out she was expectant. With her condition, it was a risk. But she took the risk, and we went as far as we could to find the best doctors,” Mwangi explained.

They were told it was possible to carry the baby to term but it would be challenging.

During her high-risk pregnancy, Mercy’s strength was evident. “When Mawia crossed the third month, everything was looking good,” Mwangi said. They had 16 ultrasounds to ensure everything was fine.

Sadly, her uterus ruptured, leading to a cardiac arrest.

Mwangi remembered his wife as a strong woman. “If you see Mercy walking and interacting with people on the road shows, she was a fighter,” he said.

Just last year, Mercy Mawia launched a foundation to aid children with cerebral palsy as she celebrated ten years in the media industry. This initiative came after she witnessed firsthand the challenges of cerebral palsy through her daughter.

May the soul of Mercy Mawia rest in eternal peace.
