Married At First Sight fans rally behind former villain Ben Walters as he stands up to Jono McCullough during explosive reunion episode

The tables were turned on Sunday night’s reunion episode of Married At First Sight as Ben Walters handed his villain title to Jono McCullough after revealing his major relationship with Ellie Dix.

The drama started the moment Jono and Ellie walked through the door hand in hand, following their texting scandal behind wife Lauren Dunn’s back.

Ben, who previously fell out of favor with viewers thanks to his harsh treatment of Ellie during their on-screen wedding, meanwhile emerged as a surprise hero of the evening after taking on Jono at the dinner table.

The part-time construction worker revealed that weeks after the experiment, Ellie had said: ‘I think Jono likes me’, but insisted there was no blood between him and his ex.

Turning to Jono, Ben added, “I just have a problem with you,” to which Jono astonishingly replied, “I don’t care!” Keep your face still, I’m talking!’

Meanwhile, Jono cemented his place as MAFS’ newest villain when he managed to divert attention from his relationship with Ellie by throwing fellow groom Tim Calwell under the bus.

“I heard Tim say that he felt like he was rushed into the Final Vows and if he had had that time, he would have made a different decision,” Jono said, implying that the groom is not actually in a relationship with Sara Mesa want to have. .

“Deflection, deflection,” groom Timothy Smith shouted as the other couples were left stunned by the confession.

As the brides began to wonder where Jono got this information from, he continued to target Tim, claiming it was all true.

Jono’s plan seemed to be working when Sara immediately turned her fiery temper on Tim and said, “What did you say to Jono?”

“I didn’t say I would have made a different decision, I said I possibly could have,” Tim said, trying to downplay what he had confided to Jono.

‘What do you mean?’ Sara shouted at him, to which Tim replied: ‘It was a hectic roller coaster.’

“But that’s you saying you would have said ‘no,’” Sara insisted, though Tim continued to deny it.

Meanwhile, Ellie and Jono seemed to be having a good time on the other side of the table, giggling together as Sara and Tim continued to argue.

‘I feel like we can’t laugh. Hang in there,” Ellie said as Jono tried to hide his smile behind his hand.

“Don’t look so happy, you (bleep),” Timothy told them.

Earlier in the episode, Jono also targeted Lauren, claiming the blonde “had no right to be angry” about his new relationship.

“It was worth crawling through hell on broken glass to get to this beautiful woman,” he said.

Jono and Lauren later had an argument, with an irate Lauren calling her former groom a ‘dog’.

“You’re the nastiest person I’ve ever met in my life, Lauren,” Jono snapped back.
