Mark Consuelos Defends His Manhood on ‘Live’ After Kelly Ripa Compares His Penis to a “Cocktail Weenie”: “I Would Say More Like a Fine Chorizo”

This morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark was certainly a sausage party.

As co-host Kelly Ripa noticed a particular stench, one she initially described as that of “rotting garbage” and then eventually broccoli, her husband and co-host Mark Consuelos said, “Speaking of smells, today is National Hot Dog Day.”

Ripa ripped her hubby and executive producer Mark Gelman, suggesting that their upcoming segment was a kind of frankfurter festivity.

“And, in honor of that, we are dunking Mark and Gelman in an ice bath,” she exclaimed, referring to the cold plunge therapy that the two men will take part in for the show’s “Aches and Pains Week.”

“So, as it turns out, it’s cocktail weenie day,” she quipped.

Gelman joked from off-stage, “Bring your own mustard,” while Consuelos defended himself, saying, “I would say more like a fine chorizo.”

All the work-up over weiners prompted discussion of Mischa, a restaurant in Midtown offering a $29 hot dog that was recently reviewed by The New York Times.

While Consuelos acknowledged that the reviewer “tried the dog and loved the dog,” he noted that it was “made with natural beef and beautiful things like that.” Ripa then went right in with the innuendo.

“Oh, it’s nine inches?” she joked with a sly smirk on her face.

As Consuelos looked over to the side of the stage for back-up, he asked, “Are we still on the air?”

Ripa was on a roll, hyping up the high-priced hot dog by describing it as a “no cold-plunge chipolata.”

“This is an all-beef, nine-inch frank,” she added. “”Some of the ladies in the audience are going, ‘What’s the address of this restaurant?’”

Happy National Hot Dog Day to all, and for those more frugal frank fans, USA Today has compiled a list of places dishing out deals in honor of the holiday.

Live with Kelly and Mark airs on weekdays. You can check out local listings on their website.
