Upon being alerted about the incident, the police arrived at the scene to find a horrifying sight. The two women, one aged 35 and the other identified as Dermetrica Waters, aged 37, were found critically injured. Both, residents of Gilmer, unfortunately, succumbed to their gunshot wounds.
As per the reports, the authorities have begun a thorough investigation into the matter, questioning witnesses and gathering evidence from the crime scene. An arrest warrant has been issued for Alvin McKnight. He is a 41-year-old man residing in Gilmer, described as a tall and sturdy African-American male, with a height of 6 feet 5 inches and weighing approximately 280 pounds.
The authorities believe that McKnight has connections in both the Upshur County and Gladewater regions. They have cautioned the public to avoid confronting him, as he is deemed highly dangerous due to his alleged involvement in the murder of the two sisters.
