Alex Ray Scott, 28, was sentenced to 22 years-to-life in prison on Thursday for the murder of New York City antiques dealer Kenneth Savinski. This sentencing comes months after Scott received a separate sentence in Oklahoma for another killing involving decapitation.

Scott, who began transitioning into a woman while in jail, was convicted of murdering 64-year-old Savinski in January 2020. The attack took place in Savinski’s Upper East Side apartment, where Scott used a decorative plate and kitchen knife.

Manhattan District Attorney Bragg commented on the case, highlighting the devastating impact on Savinski’s family and community. Bragg expressed hope that the resolution brings some sense of justice to those affected by the tragedy.

In Oklahoma, Scott was sentenced to 45 years in prison for dismembering a man with a chainsaw. Scott pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and multiple counts of criminal possession in connection with Savinski’s death.

According to reports, Scott and Savinski met on a dating app and spent the evening together on January 27, 2020, before returning to Savinski’s apartment. Savinski was later found with severe head and neck wounds, including a broken hyoid bone and a slit throat. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the murder, Scott stole Savinski’s credit cards and claimed not to remember the attack. Scott subsequently walked into a New York police precinct and confessed to another unrelated killing. Police found Scott in possession of credit cards belonging to Robin Skocdopole, leading them to investigate Skocdopole’s home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Authorities discovered Skocdopole’s home empty and covered in blood. His remains were found in May 2020 near a creek in Broken Arrow. Skocdopole had last been seen in August 2019. Scott had been renting a room from Skocdopole and falsely claimed the landlord had moved to Dallas.

A medical examiner’s report indicated that two different saws were used in Skocdopole’s dismemberment. Upon arrest, Scott led the FBI to the location of Skocdopole’s head, but no additional remains were recovered.
