Vernon said she had no idea her ‘great friend’ had been arrested until her inbox was ‘slammed’ with messages saying he’d been arrested.

‘FFs he was drinking non-alcoholic mocktails at Japanese with me two hours before his arrest,’ she said, with a crying emoji, in a post to her 72,000 followers on Instagram.

Leading officer, Detective Superintendent Billy Thompson, described the 870g of methamphetamine found as ‘significant’.

‘Methamphetamine causes terrible harm to users and to our communities,’ he said.

‘Those who traffic illicit drugs in these amounts do so purely for their own greed, they have no care for others.’
