Madonna bleaches her roots as she celebrates latest chart success with Sam Smith collab Vulgar

Madonna fired up her Insta Stories on Friday to treat fans to an image of her maintaining her famous ‘blonde ambition.’

Sportingly an astonishingly smooth complexion, the 64-year-old shot the camera a come-hither stare as she had her roots bleached.

Her latest post comes after the chart success of her latest single Vulgar, a collaboration with English singer Sam Smith.

News broke this week that Vulgar had managed to hit the number one spot on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Digital Songs list.

Over the course of the song, the Queen Of Pop threatens to ‘split’ the ‘banana’ of anyone who dares to ‘f*** with Sam tonight.’

She also leers: ”Boy, get down on your knees ’cause I am Madonna,’ and declares: ‘We do what we wanna, we say what we gotta.’

Earlier this month Madonna became the first woman since Cher to have a single open on the Billboard Hot 100 in five different decades.

Cher and Madonna are in fact the only female artists ever to have achieved this milestone, Billboard noted Wednesday.

Madge scored her latest Hot 100 single with Popular, a collaboration with Playboy Carti and The Weeknd for the latter’s buzzy new show The Idol.

With a cast led by The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, The Idol follows a pop star who becomes ensnared by a cult-leading nightclub owner.

Popular includes scathing lyrics about a woman so obsessed with fame she will ‘sell her soul’ and ‘kill anyone’ to attain it.

All the other acts to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 in five or more decades were male solo artists like Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson or all-male groups like the Rolling Stones and Santana.

Popular dropped on June 2 amid a storm of controversy about The Idol, which has gotten a drubbing online ever since it premiered at Cannes in May.

Much of the backlash has zeroed in on the racy depiction of Lily-Rose’s character, who is described on the show as a ‘human c** sock.’

During episode two, Jocelyn masturbates and self-harms while mourning her dead mother and ultimately falls into the carnal thrall of The Weekend’s character Tedros.

In what British GQ has called ‘the worst sex scene in history,’ Jocelyn pleasures herself as Tedros instructs her to ‘make that throat wet for me’ and demands that she ‘f***ing stretch that tiny little p***y.’

Fresh off of Popular, Madonna released a single called Sam Smith called Vulgar in which she leers: ‘Boy, get down on your knees ’cause I am Madonna.’

Over the course of the song, the Queen Of Pop also threatens to ‘split’ the ‘banana’ of anyone who dares to ‘f*** with Sam tonight.’

Madonna and Cher have enjoyed a devoted, overlapping fanbase for decades – but there seems to be scant affection between the two women.

Cher went on the late Sir Terry Wogan’s show in 1991 and famously made no secret of her disdain for the younger pop act.

‘She’s unbelievably creative because she’s not unbelievably talented, she’s not beautiful but she’s rude,’ said Cher mercilessly.

On a kinder note, she remarked: ‘I’m amazed at the amount, in my day, I was pretty good at doing the same thing she’s doing but she does it so much better.’

Cher also conveyed her ‘respect that she goes much further than anyone should do. The interesting thing about her is she’s willing to do whatever she wants to do.’

The two superstars posed amicably together at the 2017 Women’s March On Washington – but Cher’s claws came back out the following year.

Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Cher said of Madonna: ‘There’s something about her that I don’t like. She’s…mean. I don’t like that.’

Cher was friends with Sean Penn during his marriage to Madonna and had the couple ‘over to my house a couple of times,’ only to be confronted with the sight of Madonna being ‘so rude to everybody. She acts like a spoiled brat all the time.’

The older songstress argued that ‘when you reach the kind of acclaim that she’s reached – and you can do whatever you want to do – you should be a little bit more magnanimous, and little bit less of a c**t.’
