The 17-year-old star continued his rise to the top of the darts rankings this week by reaching the final in Den Bosch.

Little described it as an ‘incredible game’ and vowed to seize the opportunities despite his defeat

‘I will take the positive aspects of this. It was an incredible game. “I put a lot of pressure on Michael, but he just wouldn’t miss,” he said.

Meanwhile, a delighted Van Gerwen said: ‘Luke Littler will have a bright future ahead of him, we all know that. His scoring ability is enormous. He doesn’t worry about anything and does his own thing.
