Luke Littler books place in UK Open quarter-finals as he looks to win his first darts major… but teen sensation admits to feeling SICK before tie after skipping breakfast

Luke Littler’s bid to land his first darts major continued with victory at the UK Open, despite the teenager admitting he felt ill before booking his place in the quarter-finals.

Littler claimed victories over both Martin Schindler and Dave Chisnall at the Butlins Minehead event, despite trailing in the early stages of both meetings.

Chisnell led the 17-year-old early on, but ‘the Nuke’ once again showed his quality to persevere with a 10-5 win, an average of 103.38 in the match and a checkout success of 59 percent.

After the win, Littler admitted that skipping breakfast had an effect on his performance and that he felt ill before noon.

He said; “If everyone didn’t know it before, they’ll know it now: I’m not a morning person. I think I play better at night.

‘I had a hard time earlier, but managed to get over the line against Martin Schindler. After that match I chilled out and had something to eat.’

The teenage sensation hit three 180s against Chisnall and is now just three wins shy of his first major.

Yet Littler has played down the prospect of winning the tournament as he heads into the last eight.

Add; “Whoever comes out of the hat, that’s who I play. I just have to concentrate on my own game.

‘It would be unbelievable, I haven’t even thought about it. I just take it one game at a time.”

Littler will compete alongside Luke Humphries, Rob Cross, Dimitri Van den Bergh, Damon Heta, Martin Lukeman and Ricky Evans in the last eight of the tournament at Butlins on Sunday.
