Tanzanian Bongo artist Diamond Platinumz has come out to reveal how on Monday he almost died after the lift he was using malfunctioned forcing him to stay in it for a couple of minutes. In a video shared by the popular artist on Instagram, he could be seen in panic together with his crew which comprised another artist, Fole, Jima Jux and his security team.
They group realized that they had been stuck in the lift after the doors refused to open and it started to move up and down. Their cell phones stopped working due to a poor network and all they could do was contact the building help center which was not easy. From the video the group could be seen in panic as they tried to force open the lift doors by pressing on the buttons.
At some point the lights went off and they had to use their phone torches. However, after about twenty minutes, the lift lights turned on and the doors opened. Immediately he got out Diamond was received by his men who hugged him because they had featured he would be hurt. In his message the musician told owners of tall buildings with lifts to ensure a regular maintenance of the systems to avoid harm to the users.
“Today I @fole_x @juma_jux ams some of our colleagues have survived death in the lift. My brothers with tall buildings that use lifts, let us work hard to service our lists to avoid harm to the citizens,” Diamond said on Instagram.
