EastEnders villain Graham Foster is set to make his dramatic return to Albert Square, 18 years after being imprisoned for raping Little Mo Slater.

Actor Alex McSweeney will reprise the role as he makes contact with son Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) who was born following the attack.

Little Mo (Kacey Ainsworth) famously refused to terminate the pregnancy, which eventually led to the break up of her marriage with Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick).

Freddie returned to the square last year believing that Billy was his father, but will soon learn the truth and come face to face with Graham.

The rapist was last seen on screen in 2005 when Billy visited him in prison and goaded him about not being Freddie’s real father.

Speaking to The Mirror actor Alex said: ‘I’m grateful to be asked to reprise the role of Graham as I thought it was important for Freddie to be given some answers about his dad’.

‘I thoroughly enjoyed working with the talented Bobby Brazier.’

Since his time on the soap Alex has appeared in Call The Midwife, Endeavour and Hollywood blockbuster Hellboy 2. He also teaches drama at Kingston University.

It comes after reports EastEnders bosses were been left seriously impressed with Patsy Kensit after she returned to the hit BBC soap for a second time.

The actress, 55, who plays tragic Lola Pearce’s mum Emma Harding, departed Walford back in March with her character seen struggling to cope with her daughter’s terminal illness.

Patsy returned last month briefly for Lola’s emotional funeral and made quite the impression on BBC bosses.

Soap sources have now revealed that she has been back on set filming and is a ‘big hit’ with the rest of the cast.

An insider told The Mirror: ‘Patsy has been back in Albert Square filming on multiple occasions this month – so it seems fans have not seen the last of Emma.

Going on to say that the actress was thrilled to be invited back to the show.

Lola, played by Danielle Harold, was at the centre of one of the BBC soap’s most emotional storylines after she developed a brain tumour.

Lola’s mum Emma, who abandoned her when she was just three, arrived in Walford after Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) hunted her down.

But their family reunion was short-lived after Lola’s husband Jay (Jamie Borthwick) told Emma to either stick around for good or leave and soon after she left.

At the British Soap Awards, actress Danielle picked up the Best Leading Performer for Lola’s cancer storyline, while EastEnders won the gong for Best British Soap.

Mum-of-two Patsy said she had an ‘awesome experience’ while appearing on EastEnders.

She gushed on social media: ‘Cannot thank my amazing cast members [enough] for being so kind and loving to me.

‘Big thank you to the BBC, the producers, writers, crew and the EastEnders family…Jamie and Danielle for making me laugh my a**e off everyday. I love you both… Emma Barton … so so many people.’
