After a lengthy battle with illness, Kenya lost one of its most beloved actors, Baba Zero. As of this morning, the actor who became famous thanks to roles in comedic productions like Vitimbi, Kinyonga, and Plot 10 had passed away in his home.
A day after leaving Kenyatta National Hospital, where he had been undergoing treatment, Baba Zero passed away. It is stated that the talented actor was drinking juice at home when he began coughing and eventually passed away. Lucy Wangui, who plays Judge on Vioja Mahakamani and is also a great performer, spoke highly of the late comic. She informed TUKO.co.ke that she had known Baba Zero back when he was just starting out with the band Black Golden Stars in the late ’70s.
Wangui admitted that one of the reasons he was so well-liked in the business was because he could fluently talk with a Luganda accent. She said that she was looking at old images of Baba Zero with fondness because, in addition to acting, he was also highly talented in music.
Maliwaza, Mgongo Mture, and Zuberi are just a few of the late actors who shared the stage with Baba Zero. Another great actress, Mama Kayai, agreed with Wangui that the country has lost one of its most creative and resourceful actors, and she expressed her sadness at Wangui’s passing.
