Kyle Sandilands brutally mocks Machine Gun Kelly for his ‘ridiculous’ name change: ‘He looks like a man who’d easily bruise’

Kyle Sandilands has mocked US rapper Machine Gun Kelly after the 33-year-old musician succumbed to fan pressure to change his name.

The hitmaker, born Colson Baker, now calls himself ‘Machine’ after dropping his original stage name because it was thought to ‘glorify machine guns’.

“That will solve everything, Machine Gun Kelly will change his name and America’s gun problems will all be solved…what an idiot!” Sandilands said.

The 52-year-old shock jock made the comments during his Kyle and Jackie O-Show on Friday.

So far, MGK hasn’t made the change ‘official’, but News reported that the star asked photographers to call him “Machine” during a red carpet appearance in Los Angeles last week.

MGK was urged to consider a new stage handle after fans held up a sign during a concert that read “change your name.”

“You look at the man and he’s not a machine…you’re not a machine,” Sandilands continued, mocking the artist’s thin body and waterlogged hair.

He suggested that the artist should have called himself ‘Kelly’.

But Sandiland co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson disagreed, calling the suggestion “bland.”

“What’s stupid is to be called Machine, that’s ridiculous,” Sandilands replied.

He continued to throw shade at the My Ex’s Best Friend singer, telling listeners that Machine “bruised easily” and suggesting the artist eat more meat burgers so he could “get more iron in his diet.”

It comes next Sandilands and Henderson confirmed their historic new radio deal earlier this week, which will see them expand into Melbourne.

On Wednesday morning, the Sydney-based radio duo signed a record-breaking 10-year, $200 million deal that will keep them on the air until 2034.

An ARN spokesperson confirmed to Ny Breaking Australia that the deal means Kyle and Jackie’s KIIS FM work friends Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips will be out of a job and their Melbourne breakfast show will end in December.

Lauren broke down in tears as she announced the news to her listeners on Wednesday, sobbing that she “didn’t want to say goodbye to Melbourne”.

Jase and Lauren’s show was successful for KIIS FM, attracting new listeners to the station and ranking third in the Melbourne market behind Fox FM’s Fifi Fev & Nick and GOLD104.3’s Christian O’Connell.
