Kyle Richards reached a special milestone by achieving one year of sobriety which she proudly revealed on Instagram on Saturday.
The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star, 54, who left a cheeky comment on Mauricio Umansky’s latest post amid their separation, also shared a radiant selfie to her 4.2 million followers.
The TV personality wore a black, sleeveless top while a straw hat partially covered her long locks that naturally flowed down past her shoulders.
In the caption, the mother of four excitedly penned, ‘Today marks one year alcohol free for me. A number of things made me come to the conclusion that I didn’t want to drink.’
She continued, ‘First and foremost, I didn’t feel it had a place where I personally wanted to be. I listened to my heart and the message was clear to me.’

Kyle continued, ‘I knew it was no longer serving me (no pun intended) physically, mentally or spiritually. I never put a time frame on when I would drink again or say IF I ever would.’
She then gave her fans an update to how she felt after stepping away from alcohol for an entire year. ‘All I know is I have never felt better physically or been more clear mentally.’
‘I’ve learned that I still over share but at least I don’t have the “hanxiety” thinking about it,’ Richards humorously added. ‘I’ve learned I still do stupid things sometimes and beat myself up about it.’
‘I’ve learned I’m still fun and last but not least I’ve learned it was much easier than I thought it would be. It was definitely met with resistance by some. But I have never been one to fall prey to peer pressure. No matter my age.’
The reality star added, ‘Mainly people are supportive even if they didn’t quite understand since I don’t have a “problem” with alcohol. Although trust me plenty of times it didn’t feel like that.’
Upon further reflection, Kyle opened up about deciding to stop incorporating alcohol into her life. ‘Alcohol made me feel depressed the next day no matter how fun the night before was. And honestly, life is going to throw us some difficult days.’
In conclusion, the beauty wrote, ‘I certainly don’t need to be adding any extra ones to that list. A lot of you send me DM’s asking about my journey without alcohol, so I decided to share here today on this 365th day. Cheers ❤️.’

When asked by a fan if she ‘missed’ drinking or has any plans of ever drinking alcohol again, the star replied with, per People, ‘Truth is I don’t miss it all,’ and admitted that she didn’t have an exact ‘time frame’ of how long she planned to stay sober.
The Real Housewives star further expressed to her followers that, ‘I feel amazing so don’t see the point right now.’
Social media users jumped to the comment section on Saturday to share their congratulations to Kyle on her special anniversary. Her co-star, Garcelle Beauvais penned, ‘Your discipline is admirable.’
Richards’ daughter, Alexia, wrote, ‘What!!! Omg I am so proud of you!! We love a strong-willed healthy mind, body and soul queen,’ while her fitness instructor, Cory Gregory, added an applauding hands emoji.
Along with her sobriety journey, the TV personality has been on a fitness journey as well. The star has arisen speculation that she has taken the weight loss drug, Ozempic, which she has adamantly denied on various occasions.
In May, Kyle addressed speculation during an interview with Page Six, and stated, ‘I can say that I have never tried it and I have never taken it.’
She continued, ‘I’m not on any weight loss drug. If you know me, you know I have terrible anxiety so that would scare me to death. I have never, ever ever taken it.’

Kyle, who tied the knot with Umansky in 1996, typed out that he must be taking ‘ozempic,’ referencing to the claims that she took the drug. Her comment comes amid the pair’s ‘separation.’
Earlier this month on July 3, a source told People that Kyle and Mauricio ‘have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof’ after 27 years of marriage and amid speculation that Richards had sparked up a romance with singer, Morgan Wade.
However, the pair soon issued a joint statement to deny plans for divorce – but made no comment on separating.
The reality star and real estate broker tied the knot back in 1996 and share three daughters: Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15.
Mauricio is also stepfather to Richards’ daughter, Farrah, 34, from her previous marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.
