The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Klook, Asia’s premier platform for travel experiences, have inked a deal to supercharge the kingdom’s allure.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool expressed the perfect timing for this collaboration, highlighting their shared goals of promoting Thailand as a top tourist destination.

“We have set our goals to collaborate and create comprehensive joint marketing with Klook to promote quality tourism experiences in the kingdom for the ASEAN, South Asia, and South Pacific Market.”

In response, Eric Gnock Fah, COO & Co-Founder of Klook, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership.

“We are excited to team up with TAT to enrich tourism in Thailand with a diverse range of meaningful and exclusive experiences that best reflect the destination.”

Under the agreement, the two entities will focus on increasing awareness and travel demand to Thailand, promoting sustainable and community tourism, and leveraging digital transformation to enhance the Thai tourism industry.

According to Klook’s Travel Pulse survey, modern travellers are prioritising experiences, seeking unique ways to immerse themselves in local culture, cuisine, and attractions.

With Klook currently offering close to 1,700 experiences in Thailand, the partnership aims to expand offerings by 20% this year. Notable experiences include tickets to Muay Thai matches, the Siam Songkran Music Festival 2024, and exclusive dining experiences like the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant Jeh-O combined with a Chao Phraya cruise.

Moreover, the collaboration will focus on promoting sustainable tourism by empowering local communities and highlighting lesser-known authentic Thai experiences. Klook pledges to double the number of sustainable and responsible tour operators, thereby uplifting local communities and promoting more sustainable travel practices.

As Thailand continues to attract tourists, with a 44% growth in foreign arrivals last year, Klook anticipates doubling the number of bookings for tourism packages in Thailand this year, reported Pattaya Mail.

Travellers, as revealed by Klook’s Travel Pulse survey, are increasingly allocating their budgets towards experiences, with a keen interest in attending unique events like music festivals and cultural celebrations.
