Kindiki accompanies Ruto on official duties after being nominated for CS position

Interior Cabinet Secretary nominee Kithure Kindiki joined President William Ruto on an official tour of Tharaka Nithi County on Thursday, July 25,2024 days after being nominated for the position following his dismissal from the role.

In a statement shared on his X account on Thursday, July 25, 2024, Kindiki expressed his honour in accompanying President Ruto on official duty.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was in attendance.

“Honoured to accompany President William Ruto in his extensive tour of Tharaka Nithi County. In fulfilment of his campaign promises and implementation of the Government’s economic transformation agenda, the President commissioned the Kibung’a Kakimiki Water Project in Marimanti that will serve more than 30,000 residents,” he stated.

Adding;

“The President also launched the Marimanti Kenya Medical Training College and the Ksh500 Million last mile electricity connectivity project. To bring Government services closer to the people, President Ruto commissioned the County Commissioner’s Office and Huduma Center in Kathwana. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Tharaka Nithi County leadership in attendance.”

Reappointed CSs

In his first batch of eleven individuals for his new cabinet, President Ruto reappointed six former CSs on Friday, July 19, 2024, a decision that has since sparked public outrage.

“I have started the process of forming a new, broad-based cabinet to assist me in driving the urgently needed and irreversible transformation of our country. I hereby nominate the following first batch of 11 individuals for consideration and approval by the National Assembly for appointment as Cabinet Secretaries and Attorney General,” Ruto remarked.

The six CSs who have been reappointed are;

  1. Alice Wahome – Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development
  2. Kithure Kindiki – Ministry of the Interior and National Administration
  3. Aden Barre Duale – Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry
  4. Roselinda Soipan Tuiya – Ministry of Defence
  5. Rebecca Miano – Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife
  6. Davis Chirchir Ministry of Roads and Transport
