Kim Kardashian’s longtime best friend, Jonathan Cheban, is suing a Korean Barbecue sauce company.

The culinary connoisseur, who legally changed his name to Foodgod, claims he was injured by a bottle of San-J’s Korean barbeque sauce, which he claimed broke into shards and cut his hand.

Cheban, 49,  claimed in court papers that he purchased the sauce at a grocery store in Jacksonville, Florida in October 2020.

He said he put the sauce in his refrigerator when he got home and took it out a few hours later when he was making dinner, according to TMZ.

The foodie claimed the bottle ‘inexplicably exploded’ resulting in a large gash in his hand, causing ‘significant blood loss.’

Lawsuit: Kim Kardashian’s best friend Jonathan Cheban, 49, is suing a Korean BBQ sauce company and a bottle manufacturer claiming a bottle of San-J’s Korean barbeque sauce ‘inexplicably exploded’ resulting in a large gash in his hand

Cheban said the cut was close to ‘major arteries in his wrist.’

He has submitted photos in the court documents showing a stitched up hand and a burst bottle that reportedly still has the seal on the cap.

Nearly three years after the incident, Cheban alleges he has suffered nerve damage and ongoing pain.

The influencer said the injury has affected his livelihood, due to losing the ‘ability to use his hand in his social media posts, in his advertisements, and in his ability to sponsor various food items.’

He is suing the San-J’s and the company that made the bottle for $20 million.

According to a 2021 profile in the New York Post, Cheban had more than 40 endorsements at the time.

The publication reported he was either paid a monthly fee ranging from $10,000 to $30,000 per month, or would receive a small share of the company to become the face of a project.

Cheban met Kim Kardashian, 42,  more than a decade ago at the birthday party of their mutual friend Brittny Gastineau, daughter of former NFL star Mark Gastineau.

The two became good friends and Cheban eventually ended up in front of the camera in season three of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, eventually appeared in 27 episodes of the reality show.

He also appeared in more than a dozen episodes of the KUWTK spinoff, Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, according to IMDB

Some of Cheban’s followers have caught wind of the lawsuit and have been poking fun at him on social media.

‘Is the rent due?’ questioned one commenter, adding, ‘A go fund me is faster than a lawsuit on a small company that literally didn’t do anything to you.’

Another chastised the social media star writing, ‘There are people with real world problems, serious disabilities, not having access to clean water and your trying to sue because a bottle broke. I wish you well but do better!’
