Kevin De Bruyne and Pep Guardiola were caught in an animated altercation after the midfielder was substituted in the second half of the clash between Manchester City and Liverpool.

The 32-year-old had an unusually quiet evening at Anfield, with the defending champions coming under heavy pressure from Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Guardiola decided to shake things up after the hour and the Belgian didn’t seem particularly happy with what had happened.

City had taken the lead in the first half with a well-worked corner taken by De Bruyne, but it was finished by John Stones.

However, the home side gave as good as they got and had several chances before equalizing from the spot after Ederson had fouled Darwin Nunez.

The move to City came after another period of dominance for the Reds, with Guardiola deciding to bring in Jeremy Doku and Mateo Kovacic for the Belgian and Julian Alvarez.
