Katie Price is swiftly cut off by Radio 4 host as she goes on a rant about her two-year driving ban live on air

Katie Price was quickly interrupted by Radio 4 presenter Clare McDonnell as she ranted about her driving ban during Women’s Hour.

The former glamor model, 45, appeared on Friday’s show, where earlier this month she was questioned about a two-year driving ban and appeared in court, where she was fined £880 for driving without insurance and without a valid driving licence.

Katie was given a two-year ban after flipping her BMW in a drink-driving crash in September 2021.

Clare, 57, asked her: “I need to ask you about personal responsibilities. You say you’ll take it.

‘You have had two bankruptcies and recently lost your driver’s license again, you were caught driving a car when you should not have done so.

“How much of that is you saying, ‘Okay, I can criticize the press if they’ve been pushy, but I have to take a certain part of this on the chin?’

Katie replied: “Driving is a different story because I have my driver’s license, which I got in April.

‘But unfortunately, if anyone is listening from the DVLA, please contact me because the reason I don’t have my license is because my doctors have filled in the fitness to drive forms. I did my blood tests last summer which showed no alcohol, but there is someone who keeps emailing the DVLA saying I am not fit to drive.’

Clare tried to shut her down, but Katie continued, “I can’t contact anyone from the DVLA. It takes four to six weeks to process that, but you’ve already had my doctors four times to say I can drive.’

Before the outspoken TV star could continue, Clare quickly ended the conversation. She said, ‘We’ll have to leave that at that. It’s clear they’re not here to push aside their side of the argument.”

MailOnline has contacted the DVLA for comment.

Earlier this month, Katie was fined £880 after being found guilty of yet another driving offence, prompting campaigners to put her behind bars permanently.

The television personality was driving a Range Rover on the A14 bypass in Kettering, Northamptonshire, without insurance and without a valid driver’s license on August 2 last year, but was recognized by a police officer at a petrol station.

Magistrates in Northampton tried Katie in her absence after she failed to appear in court and found her guilty after CCTV footage showed the model, dressed in black slippers, getting out of the driver’s side of her bronze-coloured car.

The I’m A Celebrity star was banned from driving after her two years crashed her BMW on the B2135 in West Sussex on September 28, 2021and was also given a 16-week suspended prison sentence for drink-driving while disqualified and without insurance.

During that court hearing, the prosecutor said Katie had already been banned from driving five times.

Elsewhere in the interview, Katie called for an ‘age limit’ to stop young women using fillers, despite her own extensive history with plastic surgery.

The TV personality is campaigning for plastic surgery after her experiences with numerous cosmetic procedures, including 17 breast enlargements.

Katie said she is not a “hypocrite” but is aware of the disastrous consequences of surgery.

‘I’ve been all over the world and seen different surgeries… and the thing is, I know what filler is, you may have filler, but in the end… it goes down… they’re still chemicals that you put in your face,’ she said.

“But I just think… there should be an age limit on it, and (we should) teach girls: Why do you have to have all that filler and everything pumped into your face? Just look at my age, it’s different when you’re older, but you know, they’re still babies.’

Katie also said that before and after plastic surgery photos on social media did not take into account the recovery period, which can involve bruising and stitches.

She added: ‘My advice is don’t just go abroad and stuff because it’s cheaper. Why don’t you contact some of the people out there who have done it before and after and send them a message and say, ‘Look. , I’m thinking about having this done? What was it really like?”

Last year the government launched a consultation to gather insights and opinions on how Botox procedures and other non-surgical cosmetic treatments, including facial fillers, can be made safer.

Katie also urged young women to “embrace what they have” and said she fears they could become addicted because “in 20 years there will be a new procedure or something.”

She did not rule out further surgeries because she struggled with her perception of her own body.

“I don’t have to have surgery to look younger,” Price said. ‘I don’t know what it is, but I definitely have a relationship with the operation. I think about how I probably don’t feel good enough, needy, or not very beautiful.”
