KATHY KIUNA RECOUNTS 3 HOUR EFFORT TO KEEP ALLAN KIUNA ALIVE

Reverend Kathy Kiuna, wife of thelate Bishop Allan Kiuna has shared how they desperately tried to keep him alive for hours before his passing. The 57-year-old JCC Founder passed away on Tuesday July 9 after a six-year battle with Multiple Myeloma. Bishop Allan Kiuna had just returned from seeking a Ksh460 million treatment in the US.

Kathy was speaking during a solemn service in JCC church on Sunday, July 14. She tearfully recounted how she, alongside other pastors including Nigeria’s Pastor Obasike, rallied around Bishop Allan Kiuna.

“When Bishop breathed his last, we were there with my son Pastor Maurice, Dennis, and Lydia. We were standing around him, praying,” she recalled.

Kathy desperately urged her husband not to go, pleading with him to tell Jesus it wasn’t his time yet: “I begged him and told him, ‘please baby listen, this is not the hour.” she said.

Kathy and Pastor Obasike even chased away nurses who attempted to intervene, clinging to hope and faith for three agonizing hours.

When Pastor Esther Obasike came in, she said ‘This one is sleeping.’ She did her Nigerian ‘drama’ and lifted bishop and asked him to wake up. The other pastors went out, leaving Obasike and I alone with bishop, and I became Nigerian. We did every shakara…we were going to wake that man up with every faith we had for three hours. We tried everything we know,” she explained.

She shared that in his final moments, the Bishop had a premonition of death.

“When my best friend reached the end of his journey and kept saying ‘I wanna go home,’ we refused to accept it. Whenever he expressed a desire to go home, I would tell him, ‘Honey, you cannot say that. You are not going anywhere.’ Then he would say, ‘They are coming,’ and we would chase those thoughts away, but we refused to give in.”

Kathy and Bishop Allan Kiuna were married for over 30 years and shared three children—two daughters and a son Jeremy, who recently graduated with two degrees in the US.

She mournd him saying, “My best friend has left me, I could not live without him. Nilikuwa namtegemea. I loved Bishop with every breath that I could take,”

“I can tell you it hurts so much. It is so painful. It pierces. I’m wounded and hurting.”

Kathy Kiuna has urged people for prayer and support through this hard times.

“Pray for me and my kids. They told me it gets lonely and tougher when we put him in the grave. I need your prayers because I don’t know how to navigate through this.”
