Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has disclosed that she is receiving messages from witch doctors trying to help her with rent issues.

In a statement via her social media pages on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, the vocal senator stated that the witch doctors are flocking to her direct message (DM) asking her to pay Ksh20,000 in exchange for the service. In addition, she was to send a picture of her door so that her landlord would forget about the rent.

Ati nauza dawa ya kufanya landlord asahau rent, tuma tu 20k na picha ya mlango yako Hawa waganga wanataka kulipua inbox yangu jameni,” she said.

This comes after Nyamu refuted claims that she is facing an auction over rent arrears at her Runda home.

Nyamu on rent arrears

Speaking during a live interview with K24TV on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, Nyamu denied claims that she has rent arrears.

In addition, she thanked her fans for their concerns, assuring them that they should not be worried about anything adding that she has not gone broke.

However, she hinted at someone being behind a scheme to intimidate her into doing something, which she says is not right.

Nyamu further noted that the right way should be followed but failed to reveal the scheme, saying that she did not want to publicly address the issue.

“There are people who think that they can use rogue means to arm-twist you and intimidate you into bulging and going to the wings to make commitments they know very well are not right. And I am here to teach them that it does not always work with everyone; the right way has to be followed. I do not therefore want to address the issues in public,” Nyamu said.

However, she says that she is not broke at the moment and does not therefore need the contributions, but should any need arise, she would notify her followers and fans.

“Yesterday I got people wanting to raise money for me. They think I am broke; I am not broke, but thank you for your concern. I actually got some contributions on my phone, and I am very thankful, but I am fine; I do not need it right now. When I need it, I will definitely be giving you a pay bill number,” she stated.
