In a candid interview with Reke Ciume na Ene YouTube show host Ala C, Karen Nyamu revealed that she was raised by her dad after her mother died when she was only 17 years old.

She narrated that her mother had been sickly for years. She and her siblings never knew what was ailing her.

However, as her condition got worse, their father called them for a meeting and broke the news that their mom had cancer.

Karen said that since then, she has been in denial and has never completely healed from the tragic loss.

Luckily, her father was a supportive parent who motivated her to study hard. She credits her success to him.

She also credited her success to her spirit of working hard to achieve her goals in life.

Karen also spoke about how she handles the cyber bullying she faces due to her controversial relationship with married singer Samidoh. She firmly stated that she has grown a thick skin and learnt not to take harsh words said by haters seriously.
