Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) has been crowned as Africa’s leading airport at the 2024 World Travel Awards.
In a statement shared by the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), JKIA emerged as the winner beating other airports in the continent which were nominated in that category.
JKIA was nominated alongside Cape Town International Airport (South Africa), Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (Morocco) and Julius Nyerere International Airport (Tanzania).
Others include Kigali International Airport (Rwanda), King Shaka International Airport, Durban (South Africa) and O.R. Tambo International Airport (South Africa).
However, JKIA emerged as the winner asserting its dominance on the continental stage.
Commenting on the win, KAA indicated that it showed JKIA’s commitment to offer world-class services and meet the ever-changing demands of travellers using the airport.
The authority also appreciated the customers for pushing JKIA to its current continental recognised standards.
“This win reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional service, enhancing operational efficiency, and continuously improving the passenger experience. We thank all our passengers and partners for their continued support,” KAA stated.
