Jerry O’Connell says remarks about his wife Rebecca Romijn in her ex-husband John Stamos’ tell-all book were ‘a little scary’ … and he doesn’t think he’ll ever pen one

Jerry O'Connell said the inflammatory comments about his wife Rebecca Romijn by her ex-husband John Stamos in his new book found him “a little creepy” and that he doesn't think he'll ever write one himself.

The New York City native, 49, talks to TMZ Thursday in the Big Apple, where he was asked about tell-all books after Stamos spoke negatively about his marriage to Romijn in If You Would Have Told Me, the memoir he released in October.

“My family was mentioned in a tell-all recently and you know it's a little scary, but I mean, people have to make a living I guess, it just happens,” O'Connell said. 'We live in a time where people just want to know these things.

“I don't think I'll ever tell everything – I think I'll take some secrets to the grave – but people love it.”

The Crossing Jordan star and the Berkeley, California-born beauty, 51, tied the knot two years after her divorce from Stamos, 60, to whom she was married from 1998 to 2005.

O'Connell and Romijn are parents to 14-year-old twin daughters Charlie Tamara Tulip and Dolly Rebecca Rose, who will celebrate their birthdays later this month.

The actor, who has appeared in films such as Jerry Maguire and Stand By Me, was asked by the outlet whether people who write tell-alls should inform in advance about the people they mention in the book.

“Someone my wife was previously married to wrote a book and we got no warning,” he said, without naming Stamos. “Do they have to signal someone?”

'I've never been married before so I can't speak from experience, but let's just say God forbid, my wife and I broke up and I wrote a tell-all about my wife… there would have nothing to say. , we're older and it would be pretty boring.'

He joked that the content of a book about their lives would be about how they keep their kids from vaping or failing in geometry, adding, “Do you want to read that in a comprehensive book?”

O'Connell said he would “probably” warn Romijn about whatever he said if he wrote a comprehensive message.

O'Connell, speaking of the CBS shows The Talk On November 13, he said he did not want to go into detail about Stamos' comments about Romijn because “there are children involved.”

He said: 'My wife's ex-husband recently wrote a biography which referred to my wife in a negative way. And a lot of people have asked me about that in the press, and I could easily say, 'Fuck, how dare you ask me that?'

O'Connell said commenting on Stamos' comments would “draw attention to a situation that I don't want to comment on.”

“There are children involved, teenage children who read everything on the internet; so you don't want to fuel that fire,” O'Connell said, drawing applause from the studio audience.

In an interview with People On October 19, to promote his new memoir If You Would Have Told Me, Stamos said he was bitter towards Romijn during the end of their marriage.

“In my mind at the time, she was the devil, and I just hated her,” Stamos told the publication. “I couldn't believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life.”

He later added, “It was very much the opinion that she dumped me because her career was going great and mine wasn't, and that's humiliating.

'I don't blame her. It was just the perception people had, and maybe they weren't wrong. She was doing great then and I wasn't.'

O'Connell said last month that he and his wife received no warning from the Full House star before he wrote about them in his new memoir.

Appearing on Access Hollywood on October 23, O'Connell told hosts Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover that he and his wife learned about the book after it had already been released.

“We don't get any warning,” he said. “We'll find out just like everyone else.”

O'Connell subsequently declined to comment on whether or not his wife was shocked by the comments Stamos made about their divorce in his book, which was released on October 24.

“It's not really my place to say that,” he said in response to the question. 'I'd rather my wife talk about that. My wife and I are doing so well today.”

In his new memoir, Stamos spoke candidly about his “failed” first marriage to the former model.

In the People interview, Stamos also revealed that he was “shattered” after they ended their seven-year marriage and said he “hated her” during their divorce.

The General Hospital vet confessed, “My first marriage was a disaster for me. I've also been broken for far too long.

“I mean, a year, okay, fine,” he continued. “But it took years and years.”

Stamos said that after their divorce, he relied heavily on alcohol as a coping mechanism and only dealt with his resentment toward her after going through the steps in AA.

Stamos also revealed that he has kept a special gift that his ex-wife gave him when they were together.

In Stamos' bombastic memoir, he talks about his alcoholism and his admission to rehab. He also talked about discovering that his late friend and Full House costar, Bob Saget, had passed away.

He also opened up about sexual abuse and revealed that he had undergone multiple nose jobs early in his career.
