Jerry Hall looks all shook up as 'Elvis' serenades her

Jerry Hall left Roxy Music frontman Bryan Ferry for Mick Jagger, with whom she stayed (bar an interlude with horse-breeder Robert Sangster) for more than two decades, before marrying media tycoon Rupert Murdoch in 2016. 

Now, nearly a year after she and Murdoch divorced, evergreen Jerry evidently feels ready for The King.

Well, an Elvis impersonator. She posted a snap on social media, showing her being serenaded by an Elvis clad in figure-hugging leather as she celebrated her 67th birthday. 

Captioning the snap, she wrote: ‘Best Birthday ever.’

Jerry and billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch have sensationally finalised their divorce last August – just five weeks after their split became public – but claimed they were still ‘good friends’.

The former supermodel sparked a mystery when it emerged that she had asked the Los Angeles Superior Court to cancel the divorce petition.

The notice was filed by her attorney in California, Ronald Brot, and was dated Tuesday, August 9. The document said the divorce should be dismissed without prejudice, meaning that it could not be revived.

But hours after news of the development broke, it emerged the former couple had settled their break-up agreement. 

A spokesman for Murdoch released a statement on behalf of the former couple and in an email, described it as a ‘joint statement from Robert S. Cohen, attorney for Rupert Murdoch, and Judy Poller, attorney for Jerry Hall’.

The statement read: ‘Jerry Hall and Rupert Murdoch have finalized their divorce. They remain good friends and wish each other the best for the future’.

The couple had been together for six years when their split was reported in June 2022. 

A newspaper claimed that the media tycoon ended their marriage via an email which Jerry is said to have received while waiting for him to arrive in the UK.

She responded by filing for divorce on July 1 in Los Angeles rather than the UK, where they were married.

Her next move was even more aggressive and she hired a former Met Police anti-terrorism officer to serve Mr Murdoch the divorce papers at RAF Brize Norton on July 4 2022, after he attended his granddaughter’s wedding nearby.

In her original petition, she said she did not have his full financial information and was seeking it.

The filing of the divorce in California was significant as it is a community property state, meaning that any property acquired during the marriage is by default split 50/50.

After they married they spent more than £250million on property in the UK and the US.
