Jeremy Renner seemed to hint at his return to acting by reposting a photo to his Instagram Story on Thursday.
The 52-year-old artist – who is currently gearing up for the release of his debut album – appears to be working on the next season of Mayor of Kingstown.
He caused a stir by sharing a photo originally posted by Emma Laird, his co-star in Mayor Of Kingstown.
The actor’s castmate also wrote a short message saying “it’s happening,” and she added a note letting her followers know she would be “back with my favorite man next week.”
Renner has been starring as Mike McLusky in Mayor Of Kingstown since the show premiered on the Paramount+ streaming service in November 2021.
The program focuses on the unofficial head of a company town where prison management is the main form of business.

In addition to Renner and Laird, Mayor Of Kingstown stars artists such as Dianne Wiest, Taylor Handley and Kyle Chandler, as well as Hugh Dillon, who co-created the program with Taylor Sheridan.
The first season of the program lasted a total of ten episodes, and the second series of the show, which premiered last January, also lasted ten episodes.
The program has received mixed to negative reviews from critics, although it has become a hit with audiences.
According to TVLineMayor of Kingstown was renewed for a third season last September.
The premiere date for the third batch of episodes of the program has not yet been publicly announced.
Renner has taken a break from his acting career to recover from injuries he suffered in a snowplow accident that occurred last January.
The artist was spending time with his family at his home in the Reno, Nevada, area when he was run over by a snowplow after pushing his cousin out of the way.
The actor was stated to be in critical condition after being transported to a hospital, although he eventually stabilized under medical care.

The Hawkeye star has since shared several photos and videos on his Instagram account to document his recovery process.
The actor spoke ABC news earlier this year and told Diane Sawyer that he had “lost a lot of flesh and bone through this experience.”
However, the actor said he was “refueled and refilled with love and titanium” in the months following the incident.
