Jennifer Garner twins with her mom in matching sweatshirts as they bake a pie together on Instagram

Jennifer Garner shared a wholesome mother-daughter moment with her mother Patricia ‘Pat’ Garner, on her Instagram account on Wednesday.

The actress, 51, posted a video on Instagram that showed her and her mother baking a chiffon pie together in Jennifer’s home in Los Angeles.

At the start of the video, the mother and daughter duo showed off their matching, customized grey sweatshirts, which had the quote ‘I’m hardly without buttermilk’ in cursive font in the center of the garment. 

‘I’m hardly without buttermilk. A quote made famous by Pat Garner herself!’ Jennifer exclaimed in the video.

The quote was sewn on Jennifer’s sweatshirt with light pink thread and was sewn on Pat’s sweatshirt with sky blue thread.

The video, which is almost three minutes and thirty seconds long, is the newest episode of Jennifer’s beloved Pretend Cooking Show, which she began in 2017. The cooking and baking videos that she has shared on her social media accounts have grown in popularity ever since.

The actress’s mother has made multiple appearance’s on her daughters Pretend Cooking Show. 

It turns out that the former Alias star was adding a little side money for the post as it was an ad for Kitchen Aid, the kitchenware brand.

‘#PretendCookingShow: Chiffon Pie. 🍓 🥧 🍑. #KitchenAidAmbassador. Summertime for the Garner Girls: there was always a garden. Farmers markets were king. We ate dinner on the deck my dad built. And for dessert, we had mom’s chiffon pie. ☀️ 🥧,’ Jennifer wrote in her lengthy caption for her Instagram post.

The latest episode shows the mother and daughter duo providing a step-by-step guide to make the chiffon pie, which the Pearl Harbor star revealed that she and her mom have been making the pie, for decades and that it was, ‘one of her childhood favorite pies.’

The 51-year-old also confessed that the recipe for the chiffon pie came from a Southern Living Cookbook that was published in 1989. In the caption for her Instagram post, Garner also provided the Chiffon Pie recipe and instructions for making the dessert.

Throughout the video, the elder Garner provided some words of wisdom, as at one point, she emphasized that she still needed to look at the cookbook for the directions on making the chiffon pie even though she has been baking it for her three daughters (Jennifer, and the actress’s older sister Melissa and younger sister Susannah) for decades.

‘Even when you have memorized [a recipe that you have used for a dish for many years], It’s still good to check the original recipe,’ Pat stated.

The mother and daughter pair used kitchen and cooking appliances from Kitchen Aid as they made the dessert. 

Jennifer, who has been a brand ambassador for Kitchen Aid since March 2022, stated that she and her family have used Kitchen Aid appliances whenever they cooked and/or baked something in the kitchen.

‘Because [Kitchen Aid hand mixers] hold up and [other brands’ hand mixers] don’t,’ Pat said when her daughter asked if they used Kitchen Aid hand mixers their entire lives.

 The latest episode of My Pretend Cooking show had the actress’s 14.4 million followers buzzing in the comments section, including Southern Living Magazine, who produced the cookbook that the chiffon pie recipe came from. 

‘There are a few things we love more than a chiffon pie and Pat Garner! 🥰 ,’ The magazine wrote in the comments section of Jennifer’s Instagram post.
