Gospel singer Jemimah Thiong’o is mourning the death of her husband, Francis Thiong’o. He passed away on Sunday July 21 at 5:30PM, after nearly four months in the hospital.
Francis succumbed to cardiac arrest at Kenyatta National Hospital where he was receiving treatment.
Francis’s hospitalization began with a routine checkup that unexpectedly led to a prolonged stay in the intensive care unit.
The mounting medical bills exceeded KSh 5 million. And initially, the large bill prompted Jemimah to seek financial help from the public.
Jemimah Thiong’o’s Husband Fundraiser Concert on Hold
The fundraiser concert, the Love Concert scheduled for August 4 at Citam Valley Road, which was organized to assist with the medical expenses has now been put on hold after Francis’s passing.
“The organizing committee has instead chosen to focus on the Send-off preparations,” Tonin Okoth, chairman of the Love Concert organizing committee, explained.
“We shall resume with the concert as soon as we are done with Funeral Arrangements, still scheduled for 4th of August, 2024.”
Following the news of Francis’s death, fans and friends have expressed their condolences and support for Jemimah.
