Bishop Kiengei of JCM has found himself amid a scandal that has set the church community abuzz.
The drama started simmering when word got out that Kiengei might be involved in a secret affair with Dama, the church matron of honor and owner of Dama Mobile Spares. This is despite being married to Reverend Joy Benson.
But things really blew up when Elijah Kururia, a former gospel singer and now Gatundu North MP — and once Kiengei’s best friend — took to Facebook, throwing shade and accusing Kiengei of infidelity, saying, “I can’t take advice from a fellow cheater.”
He also called Kiengei a “hyena” and accused him of extorting money from his church members. Naturally, tongues started wagging..
Bishop Kiengei Defends Wife over Alleged Mistress
Last Sunday, the church was packed to the brim, with curious congregants and online viewers tuning in, waiting for the bishop to address the rumors.
Bishop Kiengei did not shy away. Standing at the pulpit, he pulled a Kibaki move and boldly defended his wife: “I have one wife only, and if in the future I want another, I will come here and ask for permission from you.”
But just as people were starting to catch their breath, a leaked audio surfaced, allegedly featuring Dama herself.
And this is where it gets juicy.
Kiengei’s Rumored Side Chic Exposes him Badly
In the recording, Dama did not hold back.
The mother of two girls from a previous marriage confirmed the affair.
She claimed Kiengei spends six nights a week at her place and only one night at his wife ReverendJoy Benson’s home.

She even described him as a former serial womanizer, boasting that she had ‘saved’ him from his old ways when he used to juggle several women in a single day.
Dama, sounding very scorned and incensed for not being defended threw shade at the bishop saying, “Kiengei defended his wife, so the wife can as well defend him.”
Dama went on to accuse the bishop of killing two people in a road accident. And that he drinks all night before appearing to preach at the pulpit. She claims his drink of choice is Black Label whiskey.
Kiengei’s Wife also Attacked
And if you thought that was enough, Dama threw more accusations into the mix, alleging that Kiengei’s wife, Reverend Joy Benson, “bats for the other team.”
And that Joy Benson smokes bhang, which is illegal in Kenya.
Dama, however, denied the wild rumors circulating about Kiengei’s supposed involvement in the Illuminati.
She said it was just another malicious ploy by Kururia to ruin the bishop’s reputation. She warned Kiengei to tread carefully, suggesting that Kururia, being armed, might not hesitate to do something drastic.
Bishop Kiengei hit back at the allegations, telling Kururia, “Kuria, I’ve been feeding your mother. Stop attacking me. Remember, I helped build you.” He was referring to his church’s feeding program, “The Lord’s Store,” which has supposedly been supporting Kururia’s mom.
Kiengei also accused Kururia of misleading Mwihoko residents with false promises of land titles, causing them stress-related health issues, and skipping out on a Ksh 50,000 bar bill, leaving the owner in financial trouble.
Will Dama Resign as JCM Church Matron?
Dama claimed none of this would have happened if she had been around to keep the Bishop in check. She said she could have calmed Kururia down with a single call.
Dama also hinted she might resign as the church’s matron of honor, saying they need her more than she needs them. But she plans to resign carefully to avoid backlash from her alleged lover.

And if that wasn’t enough drama for the year, Kiengei earlier faced the wrath of netizens after bodyshaming Pritty Vish.
He said, “Pritty Vishy was preying on Stevo Simple Boy’s fame. Anataka kujulikana lakini kwa kunona. Si mrembo, hawezi kuimba…she’s not pretty, let’s be honest… She’s not appealing.”
The backlash was so intense that he had to apologize publicly, and in an attempt to make amends, he pulled some strings to get Pritty Vishy brand ambassadorail deals with five companies.
Anyway, will Bishop Kiengei manage to calm the storm, or is more drama waiting to unfold in this tangled web of church politics, friendship betrayals, and forbidden love?
