Hollywood actors earlier this month joined striking screenwriters who walked out in May. It’s the first time both unions have been on strike at the same time since 1960.

The stoppage has shuttered nearly all film and television production. Actors say the streaming revolution has altered pay in entertainment, stripping them of residuals and remaking working conditions.

They are also seeking guardrails against the use of artificial intelligence, along with increases to the union’s health care and pension programs.

Late-night television was the first to feel the fallout when writers went on strike in May, just as it was during the 2007 writers strike that lasted for 100 days.

All of the top late-night shows, which are staffed by writers that pen monologues and jokes for their hosts, immediately went dark. NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show,’ Comedy Central’s ‘Daily Show,’ ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ CBS’s ‘The Late Show’ and NBC’s ‘Late Night’ have been showing reruns since May.

Numerous big-budget films that had been in the works were forced to shut down and several popular TV shows also have been put on pause.

The Hollywood labor strife also prompted Snoop Dogg, 51, to cancel shows at the Hollywood Bowl in solidarity with striking Hollywood actors and writers.

The rapper posted a message on Tuesday for his roughly 80.3 million followers announcing the cancellations after earlier postponing the shows in June in support of the ongoing strike by the Writers Guild of America.

‘We regret to inform you that due to the ongoing strike and the uncertainty when this will be over, we need to cancel the Hollywood Bowl show,’ Snoop posted.

‘We continue to stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in the WGA and SAG/AFTRA during this difficult time and remain hopeful that the AMPTP will come back to the negotiating table with a REAL proposal and we can all get back to work,’ he added.

The Long Beach, California native posted on Instagram on June 2 that the shows celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album Doggystyle were being postponed due to the strike by writers that started on May 2.
