Jason Kelce has reportedly been approached by the WWE to appear at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia this weekend.
The two-night event, which is WWE’s largest annual showcase, will take place on Saturday and Sunday evenings at the Eagles’ home stadium, Lincoln Financial Field.
Kelce’s bombastic personality has led some, including longtime wrestler The Miz, to believe that the former Philadelphia offensive lineman would be a great fit for WWE, although he has never formally appeared for the company.
WrestleMania has in the past attracted outside stars to participate in the event, such as Shaquille O’Neal, Lawrence Taylor and Snoop Dogg. Kelce now has a chance to join that list, per Fightful Select.
Kelce retired from the NFL last month, but is one of the most popular Eagles players of all time.

Kelce appearing on a WWE show recently launched for SummerSlam, the company’s second-largest annual show, which takes place this year at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
When Logan Paul announced that SummerSlam would take place here, he mentioned several Cleveland celebrities he wanted to see participate in the event, including Jason and Travis Kelce.
He did not say whether Taylor Swift, Travis’ girlfriend, would receive an invite.
WWE has already ramped up celebrity involvement for this year’s edition of WrestleMania, with The Rock wrestling on Saturday’s show and expected to be part of Sunday’s broadcast as well.
The Miz recently told TMZ about Jason Kelce, “He could be very dangerous in a WWE ring – not just with his athleticism and the wrestling side of things, which I think he absolutely can do.”
“I saw him jump up from underneath and through a window at a Bills game, and I thought, ‘Oh my God, this guy weighs 300 pounds, how did he do that? That’s unbelievable,’” he said. Miz added.

Jason Kelce has not yet commented on WWE’s invite.
“I don’t know, the way I look at it, I’m more of a Kelces fan,” The Miz said. “I played golf with Travis, what an incredible person.
‘Even when we were playing golf, I was like, ‘When are you coming to WWE? When are you coming to WrestleMania?’
“I’ve never met Jason, the guy played for Philadelphia – it seems like a home run to me.”
‘Who knows? He’s retired, he might just want to kick back and relax. Or – he’d like to come to Philadelphia.’
The Miz was asked if Kelce wanted to train as a wrestler.
‘Unfortunately yes! To a superstar! As big as he is in the NFL, we will make him an equally big superstar in the WWE!’
“The charisma, the ability to talk into a microphone and be engaging and innovative is something I think he has a talent for. “Whatever Jason Kelce wants to do, whether it’s coming to WWE for WrestleMania, winking or doing something in the NFL, whatever he wants to do, I think the world is his oyster.”

Not long after Kelce announced his retirement, Kelce took part in a stunt where he jumped through a flaming table.
Wrestlers have been known to run tables to insinuate violence and use it as a weapon.
A flaming table is extremely rare, but one has been seen before at a WrestleMania.
In 2006, Edge defeated Mick Foley after putting him through a table that was on fire.
