Jamie Lee Curtis celebrates becoming a ‘movie grandmother’ as she congratulates Freaky Friday co-star Lindsay Lohan on welcoming her first child
Jamie Lee Curtis celebrated another huge milestone in her life: becoming a ‘movie grandmother’ as she congratulated former co-star Lindsay Lohan on the birth of her son.
On Monday, the Oscar-winning actress, 64, posted sweet snaps of herself with her Lohan, 37 who welcomed her first child – son Luai – with husband Bader Shammas.
‘MAGIC MONDAY! My movie daughter just made me a movie grandmother. Blessings to Lindsay and Bader for the birth of Luai! @Lindsaylohan,’ Curtis exclaimed in the caption of her Instagram post.
The photo that Curtis shared was a throwback of herself and Lohan putting their arms around each other and also featured a small inset image of a still from the film Freaky Friday.
On Monday. a representative for Lohan confirmed that Lohan and Shammas welcomed their first child. Lohan announced her pregnancy in March on her Instagram account.

‘The family is over the moon in love [with the newborn],’ Lohan’s representative said in a statement.
The name ‘Luai’ means means ‘shield’ or ‘protector’ in Arabic.
While Luai’s exact birth date has not immediately made known yet, the actress’s representative clarified that the baby was born in Dubai, where couple reside.
The announcement marks a rare inside look into into Lohan’s personal life, as she rarely posts or comments publicly about her and her husband’s relationship, which began in 2020, on social media.
Most notably, when media outlets reported in July 2022 that Lohan and Shammas got married, Lohan confirmed that milestone moment happened months later when she appeared on The Tonight Show in November of that year. The 38-year-old even stated that wedding took place in April 2022.
Lohan and Curtis formed a close relationship when they starred in the 2003 film Freaky Friday, which became an instant hit.
In the film Curtis and Lohan play mother and daughter, respectively, whose bodies are switched by a mysterious and magical Chinese fortune cookie.
In November 2022, Curtis expressed that she and Lohan were in talks with Disney, who produced the film, to make a Freaky Friday sequel.
Several months later, Disney announced in May 2023 that a sequel to Freaky Friday was in the works and a month later, Curtis told a fan at Disneyland that production would begin sometime in 2024.
