Quarterback Hurts was penalized for a horse tackle on Giants cornerback Adoree Jackson in the third quarter of the game.

Hurts had thrown a pick-six to Jackson and the officials threw a flag for his tackle just before Jackson crossed the line for a touchdown.

A horse collar tackle is when a player grabs an opponent around the back of the collar and pulls them to the ground.

The Giants scored a two-point conversion after the touchdown, but Hurts and the Eagles still emerged victorious with a 33-25 victory.

For Hurts, the $16,000 fine, while notable, is peanuts to him.

In April, the quarterback signed a new contract that was at the time an NFL-record five-year, $255 million contract with the Eagles.

That deal was surpassed late by Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who signed a deal worth $52.5 million per year.

Hurts and the Eagles return to action on Sunday as they look to build on last week’s win against the Arizona Cardinals.

They wrap up the regular season against the Giants at MetLife Stadium before the playoffs in January.
