New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson had to be helped off the field with an injury in Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Brunson, who averages 27.2 points per game, was hurt while trying to make a jump shot over Cleveland’s Isaac Okoro. Brunson came off a screen on the foul and got up without any contact.

The 27-year-old Brunson’s legs split awkwardly as he came back down, and he staggered to the three-point line before falling to the ground. He took his left leg and sat on the court as the game continued.

Brunson stood up briefly before limping to the sideline and falling back down. He was helped to the locker room in obvious pain and fear.

The Knicks only said he has a sore knee and his return is questionable.

It came as a huge blow to New York when Brunson, a leading scorer, carried the Knicks, who are currently without starters Julius Randle, center Mitchell Robinson and guard OG Anunoby (elbow) due to injuries.

Brunson was knocked to the ground by Warriors guard Chris Paul on Thursday night.

The incident occurred late in the third quarter after Brunson caught an inbounds pass and attempted to dribble onto the court before Paul made a pick, putting the Knicks All-Star level on the Madison Square Garden hardwood.

The buzzer signaling the end of the third quarter went off after the collision, with the 38-year-old extending a hand to his opponent.

Brunson gave Paul a nasty look and said a few words to Paul, who responded by walking away with his hands in the air. Brunson was eventually helped to his feet by fellow Knick Bojan Bogdanovic.
