Jackie 'O' Henderson ends her partnership with Weight Watchers after losing 18kg through the program

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has denied that gastric band surgery and the use of the controversial diabetes drug Ozempic is behind her dramatic 18kg weight loss.

On Monday’s Kyle and Jackie O Show, a furious Jackie, 48, revealed she’s been the victim of trolls who claim the radio star had had surgery rather than losing the weight through diet and exercise.

‘When I first lost weight and started to lose weight at the beginning of the year, it was all fine. And then when I lost a little bit more, people were suspicious that it came off very quickly,’ she began.

‘And since then I’d say, like, for the last 3 to 4 months, I’ve had people just so steadfast in their belief that I have not lost this the right way and I’ve done something else.’

Jackie insisted that while it doesn’t matter how someone loses weight, she did it the healthy way.

‘I can’t say it enough that I have not done anything other than just eat well, exercise and give up alcohol,’ she said.

She explained that the biggest change was her mindset, as she had previously struggled to shed unwanted kilos for the past three years because she ‘wasn’t in that right head space.’

‘I just was not motivated and I wasn’t mentally feeling well and so I just wasn’t there. I couldn’t find that motivation within me, she explained.

‘I wanted to [lose weight] so much and I tried so hard, but then I would fall off the wagon and then I would eat McDonald’s and I think we’ve all been there with diet and exercise.’

Jackie also responded to a conspiracy theory that has been circulating among critics – that she secretly underwent a gastric band surgery to lose weight.

‘When last year I took some time off work, people thought that because I took time off work and that coincided with the weight loss, that I had gone and got gastric band surgery,’ she said.

The mother-of-one pointed out that she couldn’t have undergone gastric band surgery, as she wasn’t large enough to qualify for the procedure.

Jackie also denied speculation that she has been using Hollywood’s favourite weight loss medication Ozempc, which was originally developed for those suffering from diabetes.

‘I don’t want to get involved in the Ozempic debate, which is that people who have genuine issues with diabetes need this medication, versus the ones who are going out and abusing it for other reasons,’ she said.

Elsewhere, Jackie addressed the news that she has quit WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers), as she has now achieved her goal and wants to move away from weight-loss rhetoric.

‘You could still remain with WW and do the maintaining angle. But I just think I’m over this whole weight loss thing,’ she said.

Jackie said her method for dealing with the criticism was simply not to engage with trolls.

‘I don’t want to delete [negative] comments. I just let them go. Let them have their vent and whatever they think they think,’ she said.

It comes after Jackie credited her partnership with WW (formerly Weight Watchers) for her staggering 18kg weight loss in an Instagram post on Sunday night.

She revealed she’s ended her partnership with the company in the post.

‘I come to the end of the partnership this month,’ the mother-of-one wrote in a caption, alongside a photo of her radically slimmed-down figure.

Jackie’s post was littered with accusations she had taken infamous diabetes drug Ozempic rather than losing the weight naturally.

‘Ozempic endorsement? Lol,’ wrote one commenter, while another weighed in with ‘We have followed you for years and know you don’t like exercise or eating healthy.’

They continued: ‘Why aren’t people honest they just did Ozempic .. funny how everyone who goes on Ozempic ‘suddenly’ gives up drinking alcohol.’

‘This isn’t weight watchers. And probably why the partnership has come to an end.’

Jackie recently revealed she had shed a whopping 18kg in just five months, but was forced to shut down rumours it was due to taking a celebrity weight-loss drug.

Many speculated she was taking Ozempic, but last month Jackie revealed her weight loss was done the old-fashioned way: by following a low-calorie diet, exercising regularly and cutting out alcohol.

‘That diabetic medication people talk about taking, I don’t take that,’ Jackie replied.

‘Honestly, you can do it, guys… but I will say, I reckon [cutting out] alcohol and exercise was a big thing. I’ve never done [that] before so that was kind of the kicker for me.’

Jackie, who recently started playing tennis regularly, added that quitting alcohol and embracing exercise ‘was a big thing [she’d] never done before’.

The mother of one also confirmed she didn’t even drink alcohol at Kyle’s wedding in April.

Jackie also recently spoke about her new diet on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, revealing she often skips breakfast, a practice known as intermittent fasting.

She also avoids carbohydrates, and satiates her hunger throughout the day by snacking on pre-cut pieces of steak.
