Is Reba McEntire LEAVING The Voice already? Country star addresses rumors she is ‘unhappy’ and planning her exit – despite having only been in the role for a few months

Reba McEntire is addressing speculation that she is “unhappy” and quit The Voice shortly after making her series debut as a coach in September.

McEntire joins three other coaches on the hit show: John Legend, Gwen Stefani and Niall Horan.

The country queen, 68, addressed the rumors while attending the illustrious Bring Change To Mind Gala earlier this week.

As for whether she intended to leave the show following the rumors, McEntire cryptically responded with, “Well, it’s not right yet. We’re not done.’

However, the Fancy hitmaker seems to have shot down rumors that she is ‘unhappy’.

“I’m just having fun.” The producers, everyone on the team, just love them all,” she said Extra.

She then discussed the competition between herself and the other panellists, saying: ‘It’s a fun rivalry, but we have the best time on that show.’

“And what amazes me is the amount of talent that keeps coming up.” We are in season 24 and the talent is incredible. I hope everyone is watching.’

When asked if there’s anyone she tends to go ‘head to head’ with on the show, Reba revealed that both she and Niall are ‘always kind of sparring’.

Aside from the ‘fun rivalry’ between the coaches, the country singer opened up and blossomed into a friendship with Stefani.

“At first she was so scary and I thought she was mean to me, and then she said, ‘I just want you to like me’ and I said, ‘Well, that’s all you had to say.’ And we’re best friends,” she broke in.

McEntire is already confirmed to return for Coach Season 25, which is set to premiere next year in the spring of 2024. She will star alongside Legend, Chance the Rapper, as well as the duo Dan + Shay (Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney).

Earlier this year, it was announced that the I’m A Survivor hitmaker would be filling in for country star Blake Shelton following his departure after a long run on the competition series.

During the interview with Newsweek September, she explained: “There’s a lot of pressure, because nobody can replace Blake Shelton. He is a great personality and a wonderful person.’

However, the star added: “It’s a well-oiled machine so coming in at this time is fantastic.”

“Everyone knows the game plan, from the crew to the producers.” Everyone on the show is so nice, so sweet and so helpful. I adore.’

McEntire was previously offered the position of judge on the hit show back when it was in its infancy, but specifically turned down the offer. “I can’t be a bad judge,” she explained of her reasoning behind the decision.

“I mean, when I turned it down 15 years ago, when they wanted me to do The Voice, I said, ‘I can’t tell anybody they’re terrible.’

“I can’t say to someone, ‘Well, is your mom going to meet you at the bus stop?’ Because you are going home”. I can’t do it – said the singer. However, she admitted that she has learned a lot from the other coaches so far.

“I’m learning more from them how to let them down easily if they don’t pick them up, train them and if you can give them any advice.”

While appearing on Late Night With Seth Myers Earlier this week, Reba also commented on her time on The Voice and also revealed who her “toughest competition” is.

“John,” she said simply to Myers. “John has a great knack for picking great singers. And when we have our backs to the singers coming in for the audition, I’m always kind of going…I’m looking at John, I see that John’s going to push the button.’

She jokingly added, “Well, John is really sneaky. He’s not going to do anything,” revealing that he’ll be sitting nonchalantly humming. ‘But it’s fun!’

In addition to showing off her coaching prowess, Reba also celebrated another major milestone with the release of a book titled Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Love, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots – out on October 10.

The premise “takes you behind the scenes and shares stories, recipes, and Oklahoma-style truths that lead” through Reba’s life,” according to the official synopsis.

Along with listing delicious recipes, the singer also talked about her faith and connection with God in the book. She explained that one way to get closer to God is to “sing a song.”

“Music and faith came together early,” McIntyre informed Today earlier this week, and thanked God for her relationship with Rex Lynn – who she began dating in 2020.

She also opened the recipe book section and revealed that she would only write the book if she was allowed to add pictures. ‘I have to have pictures if I’m going to cook something, and they said okay.’

“So we have to make pictures that some of the fans haven’t seen and stories that I haven’t told,” added Reba.

Actress Reba – who recently commented on the romance between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce – also opened up about the ’emotional’ journey she took when putting together Not That Fancy.

“I get very sentimental, very stuffy, emotional.” Because in this book I bare my soul and told some stories that I have not told before.’

She also reflected further on her time on The Voice so far when she spoke to Today , saying, “It wasn’t fun at first because everyone was together before,” referring to the coaches who have worked with each other before.

“It was already their club, and I was the new kid.” And it was rough,” she explained, but then added: “After a while, they just hugged me and took me into custody. I felt like family.”

“I like training, training. I don’t like telling people what they did wrong. I don’t like negativity, so I always try to find something positive to say to them.’

On October 6, Reba dropped her latest album, also titled Not That Fancy, which features acoustic versions of some of her biggest hits.
