The Star Newspaper (Today’s Edition) has reported that Former IEBC Commissioner Irene Masit has been receiving death threats from people known to her who have continued to pressure her to openly apologize to President William Ruto for Opposing his 2022 Presidential Bid and trying to invalidate his win.
Speaking to the star, sources aware of the development story indicate that Moments before Irene Masit fled Kenya she had received threats from the same people after she refused to meet with a Powerful Government official in the absence of her lawyer Donald Kipkorir.But Irene Masit fleeing Kenya is the second event with the first one happening back in 2017 when Roselyn Akombe cited fears for her life after her colleague in the ICT department Hon Chris Musando was found killed and her body dumped in Kiambu forest. Also, there have been claims that Masit is facing issues for opposing the current government despite hailing from Rift Valley.
