Influencer 'feels sick with excitement' as she builds villa-style home amid cost of living crisis

Entitled influencer ‘feels sick with excitement’ as she meets an architect to build her Italian villa-style holiday home after being slammed for being tone-deaf amid the cost of living crisis: ‘So many things wrong with this’

Sydney-influencer Sarah’s Day has given an update on the plans for her Italian-style holiday home after being slammed for being tone-deaf amid the cost of living crisis.

The cash-up social media star, whose real name is Sarah Stevenson, gushed over her new build.

While she did not reveal the location of the new property, it will be built on a large block of costal land she and husband Kurt Tilse purchased at auction in March.

The mother-of-two teased only a few details about her plans for the build, but said it would big enough to accommodate her extended family.

She added the ‘big holiday home’ would also be designed to be used  as an Airbnb or wedding venue.

‘I know in my head what I want it to look like and what i want to feel like,’ the fitness guru told her 1.2million followers.

‘I’m so excited…So maybe one of you guys we stay in it one time and book it out.’

Sarah also posted pictures from her ‘mood board’ for the new home to her Instagram story.

‘We are going for a warm, earthy Italian-inspired villa,’ she said in the caption.

Her inspirational pictures featured a sprawling palatial European home, finished in stone.

There were also photos of a stone courtyard, built-in pool and al fresco dining area.

It comes after Sarah was slammed on social media after she announced buying the land four months ago.

Sarah, who already owns a home in Cronulla with husband Kurt, was criticised as the reveal comes at a time when so many are struggling with the housing crisis.

‘I will be sharing some big life updates that will essentially take up a lot of my time for the next few years and change our life really, forever,’ she said.

‘It’s pretty big news for us, that I wasn’t really going to share, but I decided that it’s gonna come out any way.’

After revealing her purchase on her YouTube channel fans turned on Sarah, accusing the influencer for tone deaf.

‘Hardly call that life changing lmao. What a privilege in the actual crisis that most people are living in at the moment,’ one wrote.

Another said: ‘So many things wrong with this. Firstly, not life changing news really, is it? Just clickbait for us to watch her YouTube video so she gets more views – more money.’
