A five-year-old autistic girl was miraculously saved by Florida police officers using infrared technology after wandering through swampy woods.
Shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit was called to assist with a missing persons report.
The missing person was a five-year-old girl who had run away from her home in Florida.
Using amazing thermal imaging technology, the aviation unit was able to locate the child within an hour.
Thermal camera footage showed the little girl walking through the wooded area, leading officers to her location.

“Deputies’ quick action saved the day and turned a potential tragedy into a hopeful reunion,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister.
“Their dedication exemplifies what service and protection are all about here at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.”
Bodycam footage of the rescue shows the moving moment officers finally found the child.
“Oh, there she is,” one of the deputies said. The officers then beckon her and say ‘come here darling’ and ‘come here darling’.
The deputy leading the group stretched out his arms as he navigated the swampy water to scoop the little girl out.
“Hi girl,” the deputy said. “Let’s get you out of the water.”
After carrying the five-year-old through the woods and back to their vehicles, officers checked she had no injuries.

“We were looking for you, sweetheart,” the deputy said at the end of the heartwarming rescue.
