‘I sometimes regret putting my relationship with Eve Mungai on social media’ – Director Trevor

Director Trevor now says he would’ve preferred his romance with ex-flame YouTuber Eve Mungai to stay more “hush-hush” rather than paraded all over social media.

In an interview with Obinna TV, Trevor reflected on how parading his previous relationship on social media brought unexpected challenges and scrutiny.

A curious fan asked if he ever regretted putting his love life in the spotlight, and whether that experience is why he’s now tight-lipped about his current relationship.

Trevor went on to explain how Kibe’s uninformed jabs initially hit harder saying they somehow took a toll on him.

“At some point yeah, nilikuwa nafeel ivo, but in life you can’t choose what comes with it. But kuna time nilikuwa nawish singetokea social media. Kwanza iyo time Andrew Kibe alikuwa ananinyorosha,” Trevor shared.

“The first time, his criticism of my relationship used to affect me. Kibe used to run my story without even knowing the facts. At least Edgar Obare used to ask my side of the story,” Trevor noted.

Adding;

“At some point, you will be affected no matter what, but we got used to it though.”

Trevor, Mungai breakup

In February 2024, Trevor made a surprising revelation about his once picture-perfect relationship with Eve Mungai, revealing it had ended a year prior.

In an unexpected twist aired on the revamped ‘Kenya Online Media’ YouTube channel (formerly the Mungai Eve Show), Trevor, channelled through his reporter Captain Nyota, spilt the beans.

He confessed they had kept their breakup under wraps to protect their brand, continuing to work together.

“We worked together last year while not being in a romantic relationship until February this year when we officially decided to part ways,” Trevor revealed through Nyota.

Then on Monday, February 19, 2024, Trevor took charge, announcing he had given Eve the boot and seized control of their joint social media accounts. He rebranded the channel to ‘Kenya Online Media (KOM)’ the very next day, leaving Eve out in the cold financially.

Amidst this drama, Trevor cryptically quoted, “Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”

“No! Her services are no longer needed in the following platforms: YouTube – 754K subscribers, Insta Fame – 104K subscribers, Facebook – 874K followers,” he said in a then Q&A session on his Insta stories when asked if he would work with Eve.

Director Trevor is currently in a relationship with social media strategist Yvonne Kiki.
