“It looks weird but just trust.”
This quick and easy “lazy girl lunch” just may be the long-lasting secret to losing weight.
Felicia Keathley, a 27-year-old fitness influencer and mom-of-three from California said she dropped 140 pounds thanks to a high-protein lunch that can be whipped up in just 10 minutes.
Keathley, who goes by @feliciafitnesshealth on Instagram, posted a video of her lunch recipe that has over 6,000 likes.
“Lazy girl lunch that helped me lose and maintain 140 lbs. Quick, easy, high protein and DELISH- it looks weird but just TRUST!!!” she wrote in the caption of her video before sharing the recipe.
In the short clip, Kathy spoons one cup of low-fat cottage cheese into a bowl and mixes it up with chicken she cooked in an air fryer at 400 degrees fahrenheit for 7-8 minutes. For an extra bit of taste, she also sprinkled one-fourth cup of shredded cheddar cheese onto the salad.
“That’s all! Takes 10 minutes to make and keeps me full for so long!” her caption concludes.
Several of her 474k followers said they’ve been loving the “lazy girl lunch” and chimed in with some creative versions of their own — but others asked how they could spice up the flavor a bit.
“Any ideas on what to add to take out the taste of cottage cheese?” said on of her followers. “I’m looking to start to incorporate it into some snacks or meals, but struggle with the taste. I’ve seen some yummy recipes with sugar free jello for treats, but not sure about adding it into meals.”
In response, one fellow salad enthusiast chimed in: “I add a bit of Fiesta ranch powder to mine. Delicious!”
“I drizzle hot honey on mine! Been eating this for like 3 years now since I started following you 😋,” wrote another.
“Someone I follow blended it up and used it for macaroni salad instead of mayo based macaroni salad,” someone else suggested.
Keathley noted that people who didn’t love the flavor or the texture of the cottage cheese could try replacing it with Greek yogurt or low-fat cream cheese.
In addition to her lazy girl lunch recipe, Keathley shares her favorite buffalo chicken wrap recipe as well as a recipe for an “easy sheet pan meal” consisting of various proteins and veggies.
The lazy girl lunch is just one of several diet trends making the rounds online — some of which have no nutritional value.
Gen Z’s latest “girl dinner” trend which consists of a ridiculous things glass of Coke Zero or a single can of corn should probably be avoided.
