Samidoh was an academic giant who aspired to forge a career in medicine or law but fortunately or unfortunately ended up as a policeman-cum-musician.
The Mugithi singer reminisced about his days as a bright student at Ol Joro Orok secondary school in a recent post on social media.
Samidoh recalled how he won a science fair project in Nyandarua district on March 17, 2008. He shared the winner’s certificate which shows that he won Chemistry Talk.
“Wadau hapa the dream of becoming a lawyer had dwindled a little bit and i was now torn between becoming a lawyer and a medical man. So on this month i had emerged position one in the Nyandarua district science congress chemistry talk category. My Project titled “Soap making and water softening “ a very good project by the way😜,” Samidoh’s statement read in part.
The singer further narrated the nitty-gritty of how he won the science fair project.
“We were to proceed for Provincial level science congress to be held at Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls Mathira. We didn’t have a school bus so we had to be ferried to Nyandarua high school to spend the night there and use their old bus to ferry us to Nyeri county.“My first and only day in a boarding school.
My people,here comes the culture shock of my life,taking a cold shower infront of fellow men bearing in mind the last man that saw my manhood was Mr Nyamu a popular ‘circumcisser” based in Kibera line saba.I stared, i could not Fathom but let me jst say God a is a creator./Mungu fundi😜
“Fast forward;here we are at Bishop Gatimu Ngandu girls,and ‘Geos’ from this school preceded us in making their presentation.I honestly wouldn’t say their project was that superior to what we had but their beauty,eloquence and command of the Queens language made me feel the judges may be swayed same way I already was.😜 It was our time! and there was this long Organic compound formula in my project which i had actually crammed😜.Let me tell you Maina, it evaporated 😂😂 And thats how we earned our 8th position .😂” Samidoh wrote.
KCPE
Samidoh on September 15, 2023, shared a copy of his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam certificate as he recalled how he aspired to be a lawyer.
The certificate shows that the Mugithi singer was index one when he sat for his KCPE examination.
“Huyo index number one wa kwenu anafanyanga nini siku hizi😜 I aspired to be a lawyer. Saa hii mimi ni One man guitor AKA. Singing police man 😂😂 Dreams not shattered bado nakula mbuku,” Samidoh wrote.
Samidoh, however, didn’t share the full copy of his KCPE exam which would have captured all the details including his mean score.
