‘Huyo kijana asisimame kwa madhabahu’ – Guardian Angel recalls being refrained from performing in church for marrying Esther Musila

Kenyan gospel artiste Peter Omwaka alias Guardian Angel has opened up about facing social disapproval and discrimination due to the 19-year age gap with his partner Esther Musila.

Speaking during the launch of his new record label dubbed “7 Heaven Music”, the singer recalled being mistreated during his scheduled performance in a local church that he refrained from naming.

He said he was instructed by the lead pastor to stay away from the altar since church elders disapproved of his performance.

After about 30 minutes of a heated debate, Guardian Angel narrated the pastor allowed him to perform but he says it was after that incident he quit going to church.

“I went to a church to sing somewhere and I was mistreated in that church. Pastor akasema elders wamesema huyo kijana asisimame kwa madhabahu. Wakabishana but after 30 minutes wakakubali. The pastor did not honour my presence as a performer. Nikajiuliza, yaani kuoa bibi yangu inaeza fanya nisiimbe wimbo wa gospel and that’s how I stopped going to church,” he recalled.

Later, the singer said he met another pastor who approved his marriage and he began going to church again.

Meanwhile, the lovebirds who got married on Guardian’s 33rd birthday in 2022 have revealed they are now new parents after adopting two children.

Speaking to vloggers during the launch where the two -Sammy G and Derik were officially unveiled, Esther Musila answered those who had been inquiring about her prospects of getting children with Guardian Angel.

The quinquagenarian said she was now a mother to Sammy G and Derik, adding that those who have been asking her to have kids with her husband should now know the duo are the children they had been pushing for.

Esther Musila further said that she was very proud to be a new mother at her age and vowed to give her two adopted children all the best she could afford.

“Sasa munaona wale watoto mulikua munaniambia nizae, sasa ndo hawa wamezaliwa. I am proud to be a new mother at my age despite everything and tutawalea vizuri. I am a good mother so they are under good care,” Esther Musila said.
