Drama was reportedly witnessed in one of the hospitals in Kajiado county after a push and pull between a man, Nicholas Muranda and his in-laws over the body of his wife.
The drama begun when each of the two parties demanded to be given the body of the woman for burial forcing the hospital to take action by refusing to release the body.
According to the man’s in-laws, they have accused the man of not paying dowry despite of living with their daughter for years and even getting a child with her. The man’s mother-in-law noted that the man won’t bury her daughter unless he pays the dowry.
The in-laws who had travelled all the way from Kakamega to Kajiado with hopes of collecting the remains of their daughter are now left stranded after the man rushed to a police station stopping the burial.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the woman who’s body has caused dispute had three different husbands prior to his marriage with Muranda and that she had three children from his previous marriages.
“Binti yangu angalau alikuwa na wanaume watatu kwa nyakati tofauti na hakuna hata mmoja aliyelipa mahari licha ya yeye kuwazalia watoto. Hii ndiyo sababu familia imeamua azikwe nyumbani kwa babake katika Kaunti ya Kakamega (Despite of my daughter having four different husbands, none of them payed the dowry and that’s the reason her family wants to bury her back home).” The mother-in-law noted.
