Hugh Jackman celebrated his first solo holiday break in almost 30 years following his shock split from his long-time love Deborra-Lee Furness.
However, the 55-year-old Australian heartthrob didn’t let single life hold her back and woke up “very early on Christmas morning” to view the world’s most famous Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.
Jackman took to social media to let his followers in on a festive New York secret: Christmas morning is the best time to see the tree without the crowds. However, his visit did not go as planned as the A-lister got too close to the tree and was warned by security.

“I highly recommend getting up very early on Christmas morning and taking a walk to see the Rockefeller Christmas tree,” Hugh wrote in a social media post.
Adding: ‘It’s so beautiful and not crowded at all. I got in trouble for going past the barrier, but the guard was nice and let me go with just a warning.”
It’s clear the guard didn’t know he was taunting Wolverine.

The night before, on Christmas Eve, Hugh shared a photo of himself relaxing at a restaurant with longtime friend Pat Schoenfeld via his Instagram Stories.
Hugh and Pat have been friends for years and have attended a number of Broadway shows together, with Hugh previously calling Pat his ‘theatre date’ on social media.
Hugh was also a close friend of Pat’s late husband Gerald for ten years before his death in 2008.
The actor even wrote the foreword to a biography of Gerald written by Pat after his death, entitled ‘Mr. Broadway: The Inside Story of the Shuberts, the Shows, and the Stars by the Late Gerald Schoenfeld’.
