How UCLA’s ‘Race and Equity’ director, who fondly calls Meghan ‘America’s Princess’, is spreading vile conspiracy that Kate’s cancer is FAKE while being paid $126,000 to ‘uphold compassion’. So why WON’T university fire him?

Today, DailyMail.com exclusively unmasks Johnathan Perkins.

After the Princess of Wales revealed her devastating cancer diagnosis last month, many hoped the feeding frenzy over her withdrawal from public life would finally stop.

And while some conspiracy peddlers have apologized — including celebrities like Andy Cohen — other key players, especially those on social media, have doubled down on their harassment of the ailing princess.

Tech entrepreneur Christopher Bouzy – made famous for his appearance in Harry and Meghan’s 2022 Netflix documentary – is among those who have already been busted for spreading blatant lies about Kate.

Bouzy is a loyal member of a self-styled ‘Sussex Squad’ who vigorously defends Meghan against alleged online bullying, while seemingly treating attacks on Kate as fair game.

But while Bouzy remains obsessed with a ludicrous theory that recent footage of Kate in a Windsor farm shop was faked, he has at least drawn the line at questioning the princess’s cancer diagnosis.

The same cannot be said for all his fellow online Sussex defenders.

Today, DailyMail.com exclusively unmasks Johnathan Perkins.

Perkins, a lawyer who worked at Harvard University and currently serves as director of Race and Equity at UCLA, has spread vile falsehoods about the princess on his X account (formerly Twitter) in recent weeks, including questioning whether she’s ” still alive’ and the completely unsubstantiated claim that her cancer is fake.

Posting to some 31,000 followers, Perkins, 37, boasts of his reputation as a “public academic, higher education advocate, lecturer and podcast co-host,” adding – not a little ironically – that he is committed to ‘creating a more just and equal society’.

Among his many recent posts about the princess, the most vicious are his accusations that she is a “known liar,” and that he doesn’t believe she “has/has cancer.”

He has also said that Kate “doesn’t deserve my respect,” that she “could be in a coma or dead,” and that the royal family is “using the Cancer card” to “cover something else.”

On Easter Sunday, he cruelly joked, “Wait, Kate Middleton wasn’t supposed to get up today?”

The lies about Kate’s diagnosis are particularly shocking considering that Perkins himself is a cancer survivor and has openly posted about his own battle with the disease in the past.

While Perkins seemingly has no qualms about destroying Kate’s integrity, he, like Bouzy, seems practically allergic to even the slightest criticism of the Duchess of Sussex.

Early last month he tweeted: “Do you realize that entire gossip departments are dedicated to making up nonsense about Meghan Markle?”

In another post, he shared a photo of the Duchess and wrote: “FYI this is an account of American Princess Meghan Markle Stan.”

Based in LA, Perkins first trained as a lawyer at the University of Virginia before working at Harvard’s prestigious Office of the General Counsel.

Now he makes $125,920 a year at UCLA as part of the university’s Office of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.

As such, many will point out a clear hypocrisy between his cruel comments about Kate and their stark contrast to UCLA’s “Equity, Diversity and Inclusion” values.

The university’s ‘Inclusive Excellence Framework’ states that Perkins works in his role to ‘maintain dignity for all’ and ‘promote openness, understanding, compassion and inclusivity’.

It also makes clear that the university “will not tolerate acts of discrimination, harassment or behavior that harms individuals.”

Specifically, UCLA’s HR guidelines for personnel strictly prohibit the harassment of individuals based on “cancer-related” medical conditions, while those found to have violated the harassment guidelines may face “disciplinary action” or “termination/dismissal.”

In a statement to DailyMail.com, a spokesperson for UCLA said: “Statements made on (Perkins’) personal social media account do not reflect the views of the university.”

“(UCLA’s values) seek to promote openness, understanding, compassion and inclusivity among everyone in our diverse community,” she added.

Perkins did not respond to requests for comment, but has since ‘locked’ his my boss’.

Nevertheless, some may be surprised that UCLA has so far failed to fire Perkins from his role.

After all, this is not the first time he has caused headaches for university staff.

In a now-deleted tweet from March 2022, Perkins appeared to wish death on conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas after he was hospitalized.

“Nobody wants to openly admit (all of us) that Clarence Thomas is dying,” he wrote.

After significant backlash, UCLA was forced to admit that its comments “did not reflect the views of UCLA EDI.”

And yet Perkins – who never apologized – somehow kept his job.

It was also not his first encounter with academic officials.

While attending the University of Virginia School of Law in 2011, Perkins made headlines after accusing campus police of racially profiling him during a late-night stop and search.

In a letter published in the law school’s student newspaper, he claimed that two officers stopped him on his way home from a party, told him he “matched the description” of a man they were looking for and conducted a body search.

Many students came out in support of Perkins – who has since become a fierce supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement.

However, weeks after his letter was published, Perkins dramatically retracted his claims, saying in a statement: “I wrote the article to draw attention to the topic of police misconduct. The events described in the article did not happen.”

The subsequent backlash was enormous, and he was accused of racial discrimination and labeled a liar by fellow Virginia students and in the media.

In 2017, Perkins returned again, this time claiming that the incident had indeed happened as he had first described, but that he was forced to retract his statement after threats from the FBI.

After so much furor over alleged lies and scandals potentially threatening his employment stability, you might think Perkins would be more careful about what he says in public.

But if his recent vitriolic talk about the Princess of Wales is anything to go by, some people may never learn.
