HOW MORARA KEBASO FOLLOWS IN GRANDFATHER’S FOOTSTEPS IN ACTIVISM

28-year-old lawyer and businessman Morara Kebaso has become a household name for exposing incomplete multimillion government projects initiated by President Ruto, which have either stalled or failed to materialize.

During his exposés dubbed the “Vampire Diaries,” Morara has a way of imitating President Ruto to a tee, even occasionally wearing Kaunda suits, which the president is known for.

And he has caught the attention of State House, with Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed interrupting live TV to refute Kebaso’s claim that President Ruto personally called to offer him a job.

Did you know that Morara Kebaso takes after his late politician grandfather, George Morara, whose bold activism laid the foundation for Morara’s own fearless stance?

Here are interesting facts about Morara Kebaso and his grandfather.

Early Life and Academic Excellence

Morara Kebaso was an outstanding student. He became the first person to score an A at St. Francis Gekendo Secondary School. After high school, he pursued a Law degree at the University.

Entrepreneurship

After finishing school, Morara took on various jobs to support himself.

He worked as a waiter at Ufanisi Resorts, a merchandiser for Kaysalt, and a Mathematics and Physics teacher at Kabiro Secondary School. During his university years, he ventured into online writing and explored different businesses, including selling avocados, working in insurance, and running a wines and spirits shop.

By the time he was 28, Morara had made significant achievements.

He bought his first car at 22, owned several Prado vehicles, and purchased a house at 26. Today, he is the founder and CEO of Morara Home Furniture. His company is one of Kenya’s fastest-growing furniture businesses, with over 75 employees and branches in Utawala, Kangundo Road, Mombasa, and Eldoret.

George Morara

George Justin Morara, Morara Kebaso’s grandfather, was a promising politician who served as the Member of Parliament for West Mugirango. His time in office was short, lasting only nine months. In September 1970, his life ended in a suspicious car accident on Nandi Hills, known for its sharp bends. He was returning to Kisii from a meeting in Kakamega when his car collided head-on with a police Land Rover. The accident raised many questions, but they were never fully answered.

Two days before the accident, George had openly criticized the government. He questioned the investigation into the assassination of Tom Mboya, a well-known cabinet minister. He claimed to have seen the convicted assassin on a trip to Zambia, suggesting a cover-up. Many believe his boldness may have cost him his life.
