Le Band, once a rising music group in Kenya, fell apart due to financial disagreements and shifting priorities.
The band, featuring Charisma (Fidel Eli Shammah), Ken Mwendwa, and Joel Maina, gained fame after their 2017 hit Number 1.
Their growing popularity increased their booking rates from Sh100,000 to Sh250,000 per performance.
However, the real conflict arose after securing a lucrative Sh1.2 million gig at the South African Embassy.
Charisma wanted to reinvest Sh500,000 into the band to secure their future.
But his bandmates preferred splitting the entire amount equally.
Frustrated by being overruled and feeling the band lacked long-term focus, Charisma chose to leave and pursue a solo career.
Also just before the split, one band member got a job and stopped showing up for performances.
And Charisma was often left to practice alone.
He was encouraged by a drummer to pursue a solo path.
Was the Transition easy for Charisma after Le Band Split?
However, the transition was not easy.
At first, Charisma battled depression after leaving Le Band. Financial instability as a solo artist and the pressure of being seen as an adult in the industry took a toll on him.
Despite these challenges, Charisma pushed forward and has now made a name for himself in the music scene.
He is determined to push forward in his solo career, having learned valuable lessons from his time with Le Band.
