Police in Arizona have warned that ‘timing is crucial’ as they try to find a young woman who was brutally bundled back into a car from which she tried to escape.

A shocked onlooker called police after seeing the woman running from the Nissan SUV as it pulled into a petrol station before being chased and caught by the heavyset male driver who dragged her back to the car.

Other customers seemed oblivious as the man pushed her inside and slammed the door before speeding away from the Circle K in Buckeye.

Unfortunately, we don’t know anything about these two topics,” admitted Sergeant Tamela Skaggs of the Buckeye Police Department.

“That video is of great concern to us, and that video is what we have.”

It was just after 10 p.m. Friday that the gray Nissan Rogue stopped at a pump at the gas station near Interstate 10 and Watson Road.

Both doors swung open at the same time and the woman in the passenger seat began walking towards the convenience store, her hands together.

The man immediately chases her and she only gets a few steps before he grabs her around the neck, bends her backwards and drags her feet across the ground back to the car.

It takes him ten seconds to force her into the car before he violently slams the door, marches to the driver’s side, gets in and immediately drives back out onto the street.

Hundreds of people have responded since police posted the grainy footage on their Facebook page, with many asking why other customers didn’t intervene.

“I understand that it’s scary to participate these days, but something like that, how could you not,” Valerie Evora wrote.

“How could no one around not see this or try to get away and stop him,” Laura LM added, “I’m sure that’s what she thought.”

Others were frustrated by the poor quality of the images.

“I wonder if they stopped at another gas station because they couldn’t get gas there and hopefully they have better camera footage at a nearby gas station,” Katelyn Yohe wrote.

“The pumps have cameras too,” Evora noted.

“Did you see that she did not shoot out of the SUV, but walked two to three steps and then tried to run away?” remarked Adilene Diaz, “Maybe a victim of domestic violence.”

“I thought she was trying to sneak away, but he got it, so she started running,” Lisa Chapman added.

“Anyway, someone knows who he is.”

Police say the Nissan, believed to be a 2021 to 2023 model, fled the gas station northbound on Watson toward I-10.

“That video is extremely concerning to us and we understand that it will be concerning to the viewers who watch it,” Sergeant Skaggs told Fox10.

“So that’s why we’re asking for information from the public to identify these two individuals and see if this woman is okay.

‘The timing in this research is crucial. There are too many unknowns.’
