Many families have gathered in and outside the school premises consoling each other while hoping that their children were not among the seventeen who have been confirmed dead.

The ministry of education has confirmed that the dormitory housed 156 boys who were all boarders. The total number of students enrolled in the school is 824 with 316 boarders. There being no evidence of what caused the fire has led the president to order a thorough investigation as to what could have engendered the inferno.
